How to root and flash custom recovery on Micromax Unite 2?

Unite 2 (A106) is from one of the most popular phones by Micromax & more than 1 million units of this device were sold within the year of its launch. Unite 2 features 4.7 inch IPS Touchscreen and is powered by 1.3Ghz MTK 6582 chipset along with 1 GB of RAM. Primary camera is 5 megapixel shooter while the front shooter is 2 megapixel. Device is powered by 2000 mAh battery. The performance of the device is decent and almost lag free. Follow this tutorial to root and flash recovery on Unite 2 with a proper guide to install custom ROM(s) on the device.

NOTE- THIS METHOD WORKS ONLY ON UNITE 2 RUNNING ON KITKAT.

WHAT DO WE NEED?

– Unite 2
– Drivers Click Here.
– SP Tools Click Here.
– MTK6582 Scatter file Click Here.
– Recovery file (CWM) Get Here
– Supersu.zip Click Here.
– A PC/Laptop

THINGS TO REMEMBER

– Take a backup of your data and apps before starting the process.
– Make sure that battery is at least 65-75% charged.
– USB Debugging must be enabled. For this go to Settings -> About Phone tap on build number several times to enable the Developer options in your device. After that open Developer Options in the settings and enable the USB Debugging.
– Drivers must be installed properly.

ROOTING AND FLASHING RECOVERY

STEP 1– Transfer the Supersu.zip file into your memory card and disconnect your device from PC/Laptop.

STEP 2- Switch off your device, take out the battery and connect it to your PC/Laptop by USB Cable (*Battery removed).

STEP 3- UNZIP the SP tools zip file and right click on the Flash_Tool.exe to run as administrator.

STEP 4- In SP Tools, click on Scatter Loading it will open up a new window. Browse to the path where you have downloaded
MT6582_Android_scatter_emmc.txt and select it.

STEP 5- Lot of checked boxes will appear. Click on the RECOVERY check box only and make sure no other check box is marked.

Click the Recovery inside it to open a new window, then browse to the downloaded Recovery.img file and select it.


STEP 6- Click on download. A warning message will appear just click on ‘OK’ when completed a green conformation circle will appear.
Now your device have CWM recovery installed in it.

STEP 7- Disconnect your device from PC/Laptop put the battery press following keys-
Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power buttons together to boot into CWM recovery.

STEP 8- Click on install zip from SD card and select the Supersu.zip and flash it.

[GUIDE]FLASHING ANY CUSTOM ROM(S)

Download any custom ROM for your device that you want to flash and place it in your device SD Card and follow the following
steps.
– Boot into recovery mode.
– Wipe Data/Factory.
– Wipe Cache
– Go to advanced to wipe system and data.
– When done then choose the option install zip from SD card.
– Select the ROM zip file and select YES.

It will take a while to boot with a the new ROM that you’ve installed so just wait. Once your phone starts enjoy
with your new ROM.
