Blackview is known for producing budget friendly smartphones. It recently released its new device named A7 (Blackview A7), which is the cheapest dual camera smartphone available under $50 price tag.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

For what it is worth, the A7 looks good in hand with rounded corners and a matte finish back that provides comfortable grip for one-handed usage.

Blackview A7 Review

The A7 sports a 5 inch 720p display with 2.5D curved glass on top. It is safely protected by the Gorilla Glass 4. Viewing angles are good and the display reflects good colors and details to enjoy your multimedia content on the go.

HARDWARE

A7 is powered by the MediaTek 6580A chip and Mali-400 GPU with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. Performance is good enough to carry out daily tasks. Don’t except to play heavy games on this device. Browsing web, Whtsapp, Facebook etc will all work just fine. Memory can be expanded using a MicroSD card upto 32GB to store your multimedia contents.

SOFTWARE and CONNECTIVITY

A7 runs on Google’s latest operating system Android Nougat 7.0 which is actually great to see at this price tag. Nougat provides all the Android features present till date.

Connectivity includes 3G/2G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. However it lacks the most common feature : the finger print scanner. But then at this price point it is easy to neglect the lack of a fingerprint sensor.
Other features include Dual-SIM support, Micro USB 2.0 connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

CAMERA

Dual Camera setup is what makes the A7 stand out front the other devices in its price range.

On the back is a 5MP and 0.3MP sensor combination which clicks decent images with good colors and details. It has a large f/2.4 aperture which allows to capture fair enough images in low light conditions. Dual LED light is also available on the back.

On the front is a 2MP sensor which comes with a beauty mode for selfie lovers. Images captured are fair but don’t except any exceptional quality out of it.

BATTERY

Blackview A7 Review

A7 packs a removable 2800 mAh battery which easily last a day with normal usage and around 4-5 hours on heavy usage. The removable battery is another thing we don’t find in the smartphone market these days.

CONCLUSION

A7 is a good step taken by the Blackview in the budget segment. Dual Cameras and Android Nougat are surely the main strengths of A7. Blackview A7 is a decent performer for people with a tight budget.
